Eating seasonal food... 3 reasons to do it!

Seasons can help us choose menu, taking care about the place in which we are: we’ll be rewarded with healthy food and rich of taste. And it will be good also for our taste: this is an incentive to experience new tastes and different recipes.

But which are reasons to eat seasonal food?

- Eating seasonal food means taking care of encironment and the Earth. Food that is not seasonal has a high environment cost that comes from long journeys of this food. Then this type of food needs to be cultivated through greenhouses with consequent energy spending that is obtained by fossil fuel.  

- Eating seasonal food means eating in a natural and healthy way. Seasonal vegetables mantain their vitamin power. Off-season food need some tricks to grow: pesticides. If we decide to eat seasonal food we give to our body the right dose of vitamines, mineral salts and other nutritional substances that our body needs.

- Eating seasonal food means spending less. Off-season food exploits artificial energy, with consequent lighting costs. Then there are storage costs that have an impact on final costumers.
